Peaches, Kangaroos & Coca Cola

If kangaroos threw you off in guessing this weeks highlight state, don’t worry, who knew Georgia had kangaroos.

The Kangaroo Conservation Center one hour north of Atlanta is the largest outside of Australia. Take some time to get up close and personal to marsupials found on the other side of the world.

Yes there is a Peach County in Georgia with the Peach Festival that took place for the 24th time this June.

In 1886 when the Statue of Liberty was being constructed John Pemberton planted the seeds of a modern dynasty, Coca Cola.

Georgia has a deep history and interesting cities and towns. Our visit to Savannah was brief but interesting and fun. We got a quick view of the Mercer house made famous by John Berendt, author of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. (I was lucky enough to meet him on my transatlantic cruise on the QM2 this summer. He is a gentle and truly nice man.) The best fried chicken I ever had was at the The Pirates House and your waiter will probably show you where the ghosts hang out.

Nature lovers have a great opportunity in both mountains and shore. Take a trip through the Magnolia Midland for a peek into Georgia’s woodland offerings.

Georgia is a diverse state that has given us presidents, music and more.

Whatever your interests, take time to enjoy. If you don’t have time to figure out where to go or what to do call us at 703-350-2999 or email  and we will create your unique ‘Getaway’. Visit our website for more info.

Ask yourself this question the next time you are ready to make travel plans whether for work or pleasure, ‘what am I worth’, or perhaps what is my time worth? Would I rather spend it searching the internet for hotels and flights and figuring out how to entertain myself and my family or would I rather let someone else do that for me so I can make money or enjoy time with my loved ones?

Travel agents save you time, and their fees are paid by the hotels, cruise lines and vacation companies. So why waste your time, leave the ‘surfing’ to us.

Travel Tales

Last time I wrote about Florida and that is where I spent last week, in Miami. The travel show I attended included a trip to Jungle Island, where I got to cuddle up to an alligator, pet a python and wave at a gorilla.

The opportunities for travel are so diverse that even the experts can be overwhelmed at the amount of possibilities. We learned about Chengdu, in the Sichuan province of China. If you want to hold a baby panda, that’s where you need to go.

I’m still digesting all the amazing places and ways of getting around from river cruise to camel rides.

The world is out there, dine on the sites, sounds and of course the food. Call us at 703-350-2999 to plan your next adventure, whether its across the county or across the ocean.

On the local scene:

We have the Kennedy Center and Wolf Trap but we also have small venues for upcoming stars. My husband and I joined friends to see Mae at the Mead Lab Theater on G Street. What a treat, Rachel Hardin did a great job as Mae West. There is no promise as to what other shows will provide, but Mae was definitely a winner.
